Tuesday night happened to be my friend Tiny's birthday (happy candle cakes day tines! XOXO), so that already presented an opportunity to fashionize. Being right smack in the middle of the summer heat, it is becoming more and more a mortal sin to wear layers of clothes (friends, thats 35 degrees celsius to you), so i've decided to go the sheer route bravely by donning this sweet vintage top that i got for next to nothing at a thrift store. upon closer inspection, you would see that it is a quasi-quiltish mix of lace and mesh. sweet.

also wearing one of my perennial favorites, my Moschinos, and they are just ageless. and that peace sign at the back? just cute.

still wearing my sexy Janilyn bootie/slingback hybrids (i still can't get over them), and these platformed babies just will not cease to please even at closer inspection. seriously, i think no one in the local arena can ever compete to Janilyn's craftsmanship and quality. and aren't they just sexy?





more events will be afoot, and soon enough you'll probably be seeing me in more beach get-ups, as a long weekend of sea and sun is in the works. till then, bisous!

Way back in the day, I used to be a lot more interested in photography than with fashion. I was a rather chubby geek who adored looking and appreciating the latest trends on other people, as opposed to wearing them myself. I took interest in taking pictures right before the onset of the digital revolution (sometime around 2004), and we were perfectly happy to have churned out 2 rolls of film in a week. Fast forward to now, and unfortunately, like other pursuits I have undertaken in the past, my ambitions to be a photographer has seemingly dwindled as influx of other priorities just won't stop. Then again, this love for photography remains, as are the people who continue to inspire and will always be a jillion steps ahead of their imitators.

Pardon me for not being able to update for the past few days. I'm still trying to rid my PC of tons of crap (my sister downloads) and spamware(from crap that my sister downloads), its becoming such a draggggg. My lappy's not much of a help either as the fricking spacebar is purportedly shy and you need to hit the frick out of it to get it moving. All in all (coupled by the fact that i AM generally lazy at times), it has been a slow week. So sue me, but I'm guessing you won't.:)

Anyhooz, these are way overdue pics of the group falling in line for the Jerry Bruckheimer flick "Confessions of a Shopaholic". I know, seems pretty odd that JB would produce such a chick flick, but truth be told, there were a lot of lessons to be had from the movie, although we had to learn them from the all-too cutesy and the wutesy fanfare. Kinda vapid at times, but still, it makes for a light and easy must-see especially for us fashionizers. And yes, Hugh Dancy is H-O-T.

With that said, we all planned to rendezvous in style, as we almost always do for them silly fashion premieres, just for the heck of it. And since summer is eminent, i just donned one of my favorite minis and debuted my Juan by Janilyn open-toed slingback booties, which actually caught me off-guard for being...quite comfy. Well for the first two hours at least.:)

My gorge model friend Aoi also got creative and cut up a long skirt she got for almost nothing at the ukay and debuted it as one of those ubiquitous minis with the pockets exposed. She paired it with tres adorable thrifted lace-up boots, throwing in a roomy blazer, basic tank, and her favorite MNG bag in the mix... what is there to say? girlfriend always brings it on.

My personal stylist (ha) and gay BFF Yves is channelling his usual "50's Hampton's gent" look, which he has been flaunting more and more as the summer months approaches. Here's to him looking very dapper in checks and spartan white shorts and loafers.

Checks is apparently in order for the night as Brylle also decided to go for the well-loved trend but opted to do it in brown tones. Looking very put together in plaid, brown skinnies and his favorite white lace-up sneakers.

Letting loose (in a good way, of course) at Club Vudu has inadvertently become the therapy of choice of Cebu's most fast-paced and hypertrendy denizens. Shrinks typically don't have much business in these circles, but expect the ton's top partyphiles to dole out some hard earned moolah for the shamelessly fantastic escapist fare that only a night at Vudu can provide. In over 8 years of existence, Vudu has been, is still, and will always be the city's obsession du jour: they haven't grown tired of innovating, and we in turn are still coming to party loyally for them as well.


That being said, I've chosen Club Vudu as the launchpad for my pet project, STYLE SPOTTING. My site, after all, pays homage to those who lead the sartorial pack here in our city. Where else can we spot those who are truly chic in the tropics but in Club Vudu? I'm sure my ceaseless traversing will take me to other fashion hubs here in the South, but for the moment, here are some of those who have been found guilty of being terribly chic in Club Vudu.

this stunner-cum-birthday girl of the evening (belated candle cakes day!) cooked up a storm in this custom blazer by local young designer Roni Anthony Yu, basic white tank, Topshop skirt, and tres of-the-moment fetish heels from Zara. sending a message that prim and proper and understated sexy can mix, she definitely was decked out in one of my favorite looks for the evening.

Roni shows us how "geeky chic" is gamely done with this plaid lovin' shirt which he got on a trip to Beijing, white shorts, and stunning cobalt blue accessories (the bow and belt) to finish. Roni's on his way to becoming a local style star with his good eye for design, and he most certainly does not disappoint in this ensemble.

This beautiful multimedia personality proves that she's also got a lot of cards to lay down on the fashion table in this edgy yet sweet kimono-inspired piece from Promod, and heels from Charles and Keith. She says that she's more for ease and comfort, but somehow she successfully proves that in preferring so, style can definitely not be set aside.

Whoever said that gingham checks were passe has not seen the stunning Katrina in this mint vintage skirt she found in one of her bargain haunts. Laying low on the accessories, and keeping the tones refreshingly dark, this is an ensemble that deserves the warmest of accolades.
