Julie Villaseca, a.k.a. my personal hero. Can't get any more rock n roll than this chick

 

 A couple of weekends ago, I trooped on over to The Outpost to show support for my film director friend Victor Villanueva and the fundraising event for his full-length feature, My Paranormal Romance, an official entry to the Cinema One Originals 2011 Film Festival. Major! To open the event, they screened Saranghae My Tutor, which was directed by Victor and included me as one of the actors. The film is ridiculously cheesy (in a good way) and funny in so many ways and I'm proud of the work I've done. Will share here once I get over being shy about it. Hehe.

Hoooooooooowever, me being the way I am, missed most of the show because of work, and I was only able to take very few pictures (4 in total, lol), cuz' I'm lame like that. It was great to see a lot of old friends in the event though. I also got to hang again with Julie, a fashion school grad and stylist from Manila who also happens to be rocknroll personified and my personal hero. I mean, seriously. We can only try so hard and Julie won't even break a sweat. Jules, the blogosphere needs you! Hurry!

You can tell how ecstatic I am to see my name up there though it is in microfine print. LOL. Acting is really awesome. I plan to do it for a really long time and, who knows, hopefully be able to collect more movie posters with my name on it.:)

I'm getting more and more disconnected from my typical weekend routine in the city. Going out and partying and doing it for years kind of does that to you, unfortunately. These days, I've been travelling non-stop every weekend and every opportunity I get and I couldn't be happier. I thought that my crazy schedule would never allow me this kind of lifestyle, but I guess it just takes a crazy amount of willfullness and equally rocknrollin' friends to get the deed done. No luxurious accomodations, no SURE accomodations at that, but just to catch the last bus or boat to who knows where... now that, that is the way to live. I'm loving every moment of it.

Me and my friends Vanessa, Cedric, Rabsin and Syarief rocknrolled all the way to Bais City in Negros to check out the famed Manjuyod White Sandbar and until now I can't completely describe how beautiful and sort of surreal the experience was. I've never seen an actual isolated sandbar in my life so I was just ridiculously giddy seeing the floating cottages..ahh. You just have to be there yourself to experience it.

I don't know where the next destination is, but what I can reassure you is most definitely I won't be here next weekend.:)

A couple of weeks ago, Isabel, one of my closest girlfriends from way back high school,  took some time off from working as a full-time nurse in Los Angeles for her annual (somewhat) sojourn back into the PI. Isabel and I both come from Cebu City National Science High where everyone worked doubly hard to maintain As and A+s (the requirement to get into and stay in the school) but we were the ones who frequently sat in our school quad to discuss boys and their asses or make-up while everyone was out being frantic... no, seriously! Don't get me wrong, I never had it easy and I had to work hard (in my own scope, at least, lol) to stay there for four years (they will kick you out if you don't make the required grade), but I always knew that I was kind of cut from a different cloth and probably wouldn't follow a "scientific" path into a future career. Isabel may be a nurse now, but she is definitely cut along those lines as well. Precisely why I love her!

Fast forward to nearly a decade and we are still exactly the same, although now we can legally get cocktails and watch restricted films without having to lie to get in. Haha. I took Bel and her gorjez sister Sarah and cousins TJ and Renee to Bordellos, a concept bar which started in Los Angeles that has taken the party down to the Queen City of the south. If a new, definitely upscale kind of clubbing is your cup of tea then make sure to give Bordellos a check when in Cebu.
