Hey guys, hope you're all doing great. I know I updated a bit too late this week-- I have tons of backlog posts to share, but I have also been feeling extra, extra lame the past few days. I caught the flu and I'm not a happy camper.:( But I'm like busy with so many things, I can't even afford to be sick. FML. Hoping things will look up soon though.

Just sharing something I wore while doing all the legwork for my client for a pre-nup shoot. This is something you'll typically see me in, except sometimes I do like to torture myself by doing my legwork in my 5-inch shoes instead. Haha. However, I had to dig deep downtown this time, so I wore these thrifted flat boots (LOVE)in case I had to make a run for it. :p

I also wish I was BSing you guys with these glasses, but unfortunately they're real prescription ones, and I have to wear them on a regular basis to correct my crappy vision.:( At least I got to pick these cute chartreuse frames, so at least I still feel a little bit like myself wearing them.

I'll be announcing that giveaway I mentioned once I feel well enough to work out the kinks. For now, did you get to check out Duran Duran's new "Girl Panic!" video? Crazy fun and some of the 90s' supers are in it. Glad Simon Le Bon and the rest of the boys are back. MUST see.

Hannah's shots always take my breath away without fail, and this set which I styled for is no exemption. I got the opportunity to collaoborate again with the awesome young photographer for another shoot, this time styling for male model of the moment Pierre Sierra (you have to admit, the dude is a dreamboat! :)) of LINES Models. Me and Hannah ultimately decided on going with a very clean and minimalistic feel with the shots. Pierre has impeccable features very reminiscent of top male models like Josh Beech and John Kortajarena, and we really wanted his European attributes to stand out.

I made Pierre wear a men's button up from Zara and this patent leather and chainmail harness from my own "line", DSKNKT. As some of you well know I've been DIYing and making my own alternative accessories for awhile now, and I kind of had an attempt to sell or launch it as a full line. This is foiled by my constant lack of time, focus, and resources... we'll see. Anyway, I can't tell you just how happy I was to see this on him. I wanted him to take it home 'cuz he just looked so damn good in it. Nobody else could've pulled it off IMO. Too bad S&M-inspired leather harnesses aren't really Pierre's thing, hahaha.

Anyway, I am cooking up a MAYJAH giveaway for all you lovers, which I'm sure I'll figure out at some point soon when I weed out my schedule of unnecessary crap. For the meantime, do keep posted xx

Gold Dot

I kind of panic when I'm told to wear something more colorful. I really tend to shy away from print-heavy or color-heavy trends because I don't really know how to pull it off. My hair, of course, is an entirely different story. Let's just say that's where the colors all come out and play, haha. In case some of you are wondering why it faded out to pink so fast, I DIPPED IT IN SEAWATER. 4 days after getting it dyed. Water looked really tempting, couldn't resist it, and now my hair is paying the price for an impulsive decision. Oh well. No regrets.

Anyway, I got to go ukay with my friend Philip awhile back, and I found many precious, precious things including this gorgeous neon explosion of a gilet. I'm having such a chartreuse and Day-Glo obsession lately that I'm willing to make an exemption for my no-color mantra. That, and just 60 pesos for this gilet($1.25 i think)... I just couldn't resist it.

And I totally forgot that it's November 1 today! Here's to hoping that your November will be as awesome as you hope it would be. xx

go beyond judging the cover

Corrective cosmetic line Dermablend is reminding everyone to "go beyond the cover" featuring the truly sexy Rick "Zombie Boy" Genest. In an ad stint that is sure to go viral, Rico is covered in layer after layer of industrial-strength Dermablend tattoo primer and concealer, only to wipe it off and get stripped off again in time-lapse. It can't get any sexier than that.

It is still a catchy, gimmicky ad to help generate more revenue for the company. However, it gets your senses reeling above and beyond the actual product itself. How do you judge a book? Booking Rico was a move of sheer genius as he always proves a point: we just can't be flippant with how we judge others based on the exterior. In all the interviews of him that I've read (yes, I stalk him, so sue me), he's very honest, profound, street-smart, and holds more wit and charm than a lot of those than dare to judge him, I'd say. And he really doesn't give a rat's ass about what people feel about his appearance. He's totally my personal hero.

A close blogger friend of mine has been getting a lot of incredibly mean flak from girls in her workplace simply because she really likes to dress up. It hurts her a lot and it's hard to convince her to feel otherwise. If there's one thing I've learned (as someone who gets a fair share of unfair flak myself), it is that you shouldn't be afraid to unleash the inner freak within because of what people might say. You have nothing to prove to anyone, especially to those who barely know you. As long as you're happy and you're not stepping on other people's toes, then do whatever floats your boat. Seriously. Let's all think like Rico and douse the world with our own dose of self-expression.

Enough of the dramz... now back to Rick. In case you ever doubted as to how hot he is underneath all that ink, well now you know.:)
