Today, I've crossed over to the dark side: I've officially entered my late 20s. As much as I hate to admit it, I  can't go back anymore to the crazy, hazy, carefree days of my early youth. I think this is the time when I'm supposed to start to "reevaluate" my life and make "serious" plans about my future or something, which freaks me out in ways I can't describe. There's something so... intense and stressful about the thought of growing old that it's downright scary at times. But then again we can't stop the inevitable from happening, so the best thing to do is to roll with the punches, albeit looking chic doing it, hopefully.

Here's 26 resolutions I can think of at the moment (as in right now) as I move forward to another year:

1) To be a better blogger, no matter what direction my blog takes.

2) To be very prolific as an actor not just with how many projects I do, but with the quality of what I'm doing.

3) To make more time for really important things in life, no matter how hard it gets. I'm missing out on way too much quality time with everyone.

4) To shop better. Not more, just better in how I make buying decisions. And yes, to be less impulsive.

5) To be a better girlfriend. I think I give my boyfriend too much hell sometimes.

6) To get into Hollywood? Kidding. To try to direct, produce and write more work for film, definitely.

7) To complete my IAFT acting scholarship with flying colors.

8) To balance eating well and eating healthy.

9) To travel more. I'm seriously hell-bent in doing this.

10) To be a better parent to my dog.

11) To close lids on everything I touch and not leave stuff open or ajar. This weird mannerism is always present when I'm really stressed, much to my boyfriend's chagrin.

12) To drop 10 pounds. Lol

13) To be less scatterbrained. I am, quite honestly, the most scatterbrained person I know. Not proud!

14) To read people better; not to be too trusting or distrusting to anyone new that I meet.

15) To buy more flats. I am getting old, after all.

16) To take care of my job. I've got an entire company riding on me to do my job well.

17) To prioritize health over wealth... well health is wealth, isn't it? 

18) To seek inspiration from new things, places, and people. We can all learn so much if we allow ourselves the space to embark on the things we don't know yet.

19) To know the right times when to be agressive at getting something and when to take a step back.

20) To complain less and to appreciate more.

21) Get back to reading a lot of books. I've got the attention span of a goldfish these days.

22) To learn the value of saying "no" sometimes.

23) To give back and to pay it forward whenever I possibly can.

24) To try and get back into fitness! There's absolutely no excuse for not exercising.

25) To be a better daughter and sister.

26) To simply just be better.

When you've got a good life, it kind of makes more sense to just live your life, as opposed to poring over hours and hours telling the world about how "awesome" everything is. My boyfriend gives me that argument whenever I pick up my phone or camera to take pictures or check-in or document just about every nice thing we do together-- he thinks it's silly, and it "destroys" the human experience because of the "need" to have proof/share the things that should just be enjoyed. Being the incredibly private person that he is, I definitely see where he is going. To each his own and there is of course nothing wrong with that, but that's the way he rolls, and definitely that's how he wants me to roll. After blogging for what feels like forever, I do appreciate his unbridled honesty and his uncorrupted view of how the world works and about what I do. Sometimes, we just really need to kick back and live our lives, and not to go about chasing and documenting it all the time. I'm glad to be with a man that tries to keep me grounded in that sense. 

This is a more personal post than most, and I hate to sound super cheesy and icky (my bf will probably give me hell for this lol), so I'll keep it short. I may not have everything I could ever want, but I'm glad to have a life that's currently filled with so much love and support. I won't always be talking about it here, but at least you know what goes on behind closed doors. I owe it all to my two boys, Thaad and Mozart, in keeping my life together in a world filled with agendas and a sea of ups and downs. I can't be more grateful.

I've been a very, very bad blogger--yet again. I gave in to my urges of having a week's off from this. It's kind of a "crime" especially in these days when  absences from the blogosphere could mean the demise of traffic and stats, but it's kind of fine for me. I kind of wanna strip down my blogging experience and go back to a certain sense of being true to myself and what this is that we bloggers do. It's kind of overwhelming how all of this (fashion blogging in general) has evolved, both in good ways and bad... so I want to hit the brakes somewhat to assess where I want all of this to go for me. I don't know if it means reduced posts or anything, but it's definitely gonna be more honest, at least to the level that I want. We'll see what happens. 

Just sharing this backlogged outfit post real quick-- went on a thrifting spree awhile back and found this incredible collector's piece. It's got this season's "on-trend" prints, and just the right amount of gaudy... Liberace would be proud.

...is an awful joke, but my boyfriend loves to crack it to pester me and gets me to laugh all the same (despite my obvious annoyance). The things the men in our life can get away with, lol. That was basically the first thing that came to mind, trying to caption this very Day-glo ensemble. I absolutely love this deconstructed traffic-cone hued dress from Maldita, which I've worn to a couple of other occasions already. Not sure if saffron orange is big this fall, but here's to layering it with some leather to try and make it work.

These days, I'm really not in the habit of overcomplicating what I wear. I'm trying to glide smoothly between my new life in acting school and working at the same time, so I really want a new paradigm when it comes to effortless, comfortable dressing. I hope that doesn't sound too boring but spare dressing has been sitting well with me.

I got to wear this dress which I got from my bff Yves C (an advanced birthday gift as he said, haha)on one of my trips to school. I'm just really glad that cooler weather is back and I get to whip out all the leather and PVC I can again. Decided to wear it with my beautiful Rajos to just give it a little kick. A lot of people might deem it "impractical" to be walking around in these, but on the contrary, they might just be some of the most comfortable shoes I've walked in. That's just in my opinion, at least.

I'm turning 26 in a month. When did I suddenly get to be on the lower end of the scale? I'm feeling the fatigue and the lifestyle changes that come with age. I'm definitely noticing my changing tastes where my personal style is concerned. I'm increasingly favoring minimalistic cuts and fabrics, even bordering on being called "classic". And while I will always have my "punk" and "edgy" sensibilities, I think I've really, really come to that point where I want to embrace the fact that I'm getting older. I'm just hoping my style ages well over time.

I wore this simple cobalt blue, leather and silver ensemble while out in school. Now that I'm leading a "double life", I appreciate  sensible yet stylish footwear all the more (no platforms for now), and these Gold Dot flats are clear-cut favorites. I've always been a fan of the brand, and I felt that coming out with flats was genius.

Getting inked for the first time seems like a really, really daunting thing to think of, and rightfully so. Many times have I made sweeping declarations about getting a tattoo, but they all fell in vain. I felt like there were honestly too many things to consider, and I was all too happy to keep putting it off. Firstly, you need to decide on a design you know you'll stand for until the day you die. Pressure much? Just the thought of putting something permanent on your skin is incredibly intimidating for most of us. Secondly, is the pain tolerable or intolerable? I think this factor held me back all those times, more than anything (yes, I'm quite the p**sy). And most importantly, you need to find the right tattoo artist you know you can develop a good relationship with.

Me and the boyf were decided on marking our 2nd year anniversary with our first small-piece tattoos (not of each other's names, if that's what you thought lol). The timing couldn't be more perfect as a friend introduced us to the former Leyte-based tattoo artist Alvin Pastor, who I've been hearing great things about. After careful consideration and research, I know we've found our artist.

Initially making a name for himself in Leyte where he is considered as one of the biggest names in tattoo artistry, Alvin has just recently opened up shop here in Cebu City in the hopes of acquiring a bigger fanbase and opening more doors and opportunities. Alvin has won numerous tattoo competitions and has established a signature "freehand" approach.

 The first line is unforgettable.

His first shop located in Ramos Center is incredibly clean and well-maintained, which kind of puts you at ease especially as a first-timer. No one wants to get their tattoo done in an unhygienic setup anyway, no matter how much the cost. Thankfully everything here is spic and span.

Despite wasting many minutes threatening everyone that I was about to chicken out, I had my design done. Alvin was incredibly understanding of my ordeal, and helped talk me into going through with it. I had an overwhelming fear that I might not be able to withstand the pain-- but then again, he was  right. It was painful at a point, but quite tolerable. Well worth it.

For someone who's never ever gotten ink before, it seemed kind of surreal to see the final design etched on my skin permanently-- a double infinity sign, which stands for a lot of love and great moments. The nerd in my boyfriend got a USB logo, lol. Definitely no regrets. After getting inked for the very first time, I am now rearing to go back for more. Thank you, Alvin Pastor!
