I think doing some online shopping here and there is part-and-parcel of the whole fashion blogging experience. There's just many great sites online that offer on-trend items that are sometimes a step ahead of their retail counterparts, and the temptation is absolutely inescapable sometimes! As much as I believe in "saving for the rainy season" these days, I can't resist an awesome item every now and then (especially from a site that offers free shipping worldwide!).
I chanced upon the site Persunmall through great recommendations from fellow bloggers and seeing their items worn as well. I'm careful when treading new sites (I am often a repeat customer of a select few) , but the site was immediately likable upon closer inspection. They seem to cater to a wide range of sartorial tastes, and carried a nice balance of trendy items, classic staples, and special occasion dresses. One of their reps came in contact with me and tasked me to make a wishlist with their items, which was far from being daunting. I'm all about stripping down my wardrobe these days to a bare minimum, and they carried the right kind of basics that I'm looking forward to stocking soon.
Persunmall also seems to be leatherexperts -- make sure to check out their great selection of jackets, blazers and other leather items!
Check out Persunmall to see the awesomeness for yourself!
I used to really love body-con dresses. Emphasis on "used to".
These days were, of course, from way back when I was happily single and only really cared about being 'thin' and looking fabulous. Body-con dresses and tight confections were mainstays in my closet, and back then, thought that was the height of my sartorial consciousness.
Fast forward to the present, where after I fell in love, shared hundreds of home-cooked meals and indulgent dinners out, I now feel like a completely different person. I gained an obscene amount of weight, and promptly felt a lot of my self-esteem to wear these sexy numbers go down the drain. I even sold off a lot of my tight outfits at a particular low point-- I never thought I'd see a tight-fitting dress in my closet ever again, not just with my own confidence demons but also didn't think I'd see a body-con dress again that I would fall madly in love with.
Okay ladies, don't hold your breaths now! Exhale!
One of Las Vegas' most established and anticipated acts is hitting the country! Free your Tuesday and have a BV-free night with The Chippendales in Cebu happening tonight only at the Marco Polo Plaza! Bring on your best girlfriends for the ultimate girls night out event you shouldn't miss.
Established in 1979, Chippendales is the first, and still undeniably the best, all-male stripping troupe performing for US audiences. The group has transcended above and beyond the norms of the profession by staging high-quality performances and choreography, setting themselves apart from most of their competitors. In Las Vegas, the group performs exclusively in a ten-million dollar theater and lounge built specifically for them in the Rio All Suite Hotel and Casino. That's how awesome they are!
But seriously though, the words "all-male stripping troupe" should be enough of a kicker, right? If you loved "Magic Mike", then... you know what to expect!

Geometric dress from Charm of Everyday Sundaes (acquired during BU4) | transparent clutch with studs from Tonic at The Maze Hipzone | sandals from Staccato
In my honest opinion, there's something as equally striking with severe minimalism and simple shapes as literally "loud" prints and one-off clothing structures. I'm glad that I've always preferred minimalist items with an "edge" anyway, because these items never really age/go out of style. These days, I think the best way to dress for my age with the edge that I've always liked is to just stick to the basics, and just find little ways to mix and stir it up.
One current favorite is this black-and-white number which I got as an "exchange" with fellow Cebuana blogger Charm from Bloggers United 4. Yeah, it's been that long since I've acquired it, but I've only recently had the guts to wear this since I'm a bit more toner these days [or feeling lang. charot!]. Loving the starkness of the piece, as well as the geometry of it. This was a "no-brainer" dress for a lunch out in the mall with the husband, which I paired with simple yet striking accessories for a bit of a twist.
I also just posted this look because I'm having Bloggers United withdrawals, haha. Sad I missed BU5, but hopefully if everything goes well I should be able to make it back to the 6th installment (sana meron pa hehe).
Have a great week ahead!
I know I'm not exactly a "food blogger", but then again, don't get me started on talking about good food. I could probably go on and on about it for hours. I LOVE discovering great places to eat just as much as I do movie dates or shoe purchases. Admittedly we 've chosen not to eat out as much as we used to (honestly because I'm desperately trying to count my calories and lose weight haha), but when we do go out on those special dinners together, the boyf and I are always on the lookout for some key elements: a great ambiance, excellent location, and great value for money. It's more than just what you eat, but rather an intimate experience made better with food that's equally memorable.
With that, I knew I couldn't refuse Kate and Carla's (who has an AMAZING blog by the way--click here) invitation to an exclusive preview of The Suite Room, a brand-new offshoot project from the creators of the Casa Verde franchise. We all know that we can't think about Casa Verde without having "great food" and "even more great food" come to mind, so I know I needed to be there. There's going to be a lot awesome food photos coming up, so hold on to your diets:
The Suite Room is a trend-setting concept from the Casa Verde group, and is aptly named for its luxe, hotel suite room-inspired interiors.
bedroom slippers greeted us upon arrival. suite room, diba?
just to be clear-- we literally got to try everything on this menu @.@(sorry for the grainy phone shot)
classic Caesar salad that was definitely above the ordinary
the hubby's runaway favorite-- mixed greens with candied nuts, grapes, and dressed with strawberry vinaigrette. heaven!
The Suite Room's menu is still currently in the works as per the developers, and at that you'll be experiencing fusions of European, Oriental, Italian, and other dishes--and at that, I loved their Asian Beef and Shrimp Noodle
Can't have a soup menu without the classic Cream of Squash! This was particularly very good.
Carbs that are totally worth the cheat day over: spaghetti and sausage in tomato sauce, spinach and ricotta cheese ravioli in tomato cream, bacon and mushroom pasta in pesto sauce, shrimp fettucine in alfredo sauce
Can you possibly resist this?! Gorgeous tuna sandwich with greens
And now, the pieces de resistance! For such reasonably priced dishes, their main courses are extremely generous in size and flavor. This pan-fried salmon on a bed of risotto... there are no words!
This Australian beef steak deserves a standing O and a repeat performance. So worth the price!
I just had to do another angle. Seriously just because.
This serving of citrus herb roasted chicken is HUGE. well worth the money.
For those who prefer something less heavier than red meat, this baked cream dory is perfect.
Told you it was a food overload!:)
VERDICT: If you're looking for a luxurious gourmet dining experience at very friendly price points, then The Suite Room in Cebu City is a place I would most definitely recommend. The food actually tastes as good as it looks, if not even more. The place is also small and intimate, to give their diners personalized and dedicated service.
I'll be sure to come back (on cheat days, of course!:))
