In musical terms, a mashup is created by overlaying two or more compositions seamlessly, coming up with a cohesive, brand-new sound altogether. In fashion, a lot of similar collaborative efforts have worked quite well (Lanvin X Acne would top my list), with both parties reconciling sartorial viewpoints with ease.
The recent dual outing of fashion photographer Roland Icban (aptly known as "The Humanizer") and up-and-coming young design talent Brylle Quirante proves to be one that works. With their shared love of high-street style sensibilities, pop culture, and edgy editorial work, the two created a profusion of colour and darker undertones with their recent 'lost in Mexico' inspired photoshoot. Here's to hoping that these two will captivate the senses again by doing another mashup soon.
