Hello lovelies, top of the Tuesday morning to you... Hope your weekend was extra fantastic!
Apologies for the late post-- the summer has officially rolled out and I was doing a lottttt of resting from all the mad rush of the past few days. I'm really quite excited to know what's in store, and of course you guys would be the first to know of my styleventures.:)
I just want to share with you this incredible evening that I had a few weeks ago-the Cebu Chapter of the Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster sa Pilipinas or the KBP (Association of Broadcasters in the Philippines) had a formal banquet to welcome their new members, as well as award those who excelled in their Accreditation Exams. To let you know though, I've been in and out of the local media since I was 17, but this is the first time that I went pro and became a legitimate member, so the event really meant a lot to me.
Yep, that's my name, don't wear it out... Lol
However, I really wasn't expecting to be given THIS literal plaque! They handed it to me in front of the members of the upper echelons of local media, and I was incredibly stunned--yep, just 2nd place... but that's something to be thankful for, and it made my evening!
In the very least, I know that I appeared "worthy" to strut my stuff at the banquet, considering I put on one of the most classic and minimalistic of threads:
WEARING
black sheath dress- Identify by Yves
black and gold mules- Dorothy Perkins
faux pearls
There was something understatedly elegant and timeless about this Yves creation. Yes, I'm all for everything bodycon or bandage-y these days, but I opted for this conservative wonder-- It had the right 80's nuances to it, and I specially fell in love with the batwing sleeves, bold shoulders and the Grecian-like draping up front. I chose to keep the accessories to a minimum to really emphasize these details.
Quite ironic and quite an opportunity for a photo op to stand in front of classic wall paintings portraying the native outfits of local women in our country. They really did have exquisite garb, yes? And oh, I've had these Dorothy Perkins mules for a looooong time... but this would be like, the 3rd time I've stepped out in it? They really hurt after a while but couldn't be more appropriate for the outfit.:)
Holding and presenting my award.. Yeah unfortunately, I'm not the "smiling in the eyes" kinda person. I don't know-- it always takes extra effort for me to genuinely smile for the camera.. but I'm trying, I'm trying! :)
Speaking of awards, I'd like to thank one of my favorite blog reads (no kidding), Dream Sequins (check her out if you haven't yet... http://dreamsequins.blogspot.com), for having awarded me with another "One Lovely Blog" award... She is not just an incredible tastemaker (kudos to her for really taking time to highlight up-and-coming and avant-garde designers), but I find her to be genuine especially in her effort to make friendly ties online. For that, all my love to you!
I pass on this award to some of my lovely blog friends (next post)... because you all have something to bring to the table and because you show genuine camaraderie at that. To be revealed later, so till then, XOXO!
