Rockin' The Streets: First Editorial
7:31 AMHello loves.. I'm back, but not on track just yet.:(
I hope you all are having a good weekend. I'm having a good one as well, but definitely one infusing too much work and too little play to be considered "entertaining". Yesterday we celebrated our country's 111th Independence Day (KUDOS FILIPINOS!), and along with that came a HUGE rock concert event for me to host, and while it was fun for the most part, it certainly knocked the wind right off me. Though feeling immensely stressed and under the weather, I'm missing my blog, I'm missing all of you... so there, thus this blog entry.:)
No time for outfit posts just yet, but this is something quite different. I'm publicly posting for the first time some of the shots of my first ever [attempt at] editorial styling.
Since I was intending to write for a prestigious local paper's fashion section, I decided to do it with a huge aplomb. At that I gathered some of my best colleagues to help actualize the kind of vision that I wanted: Yves (for styling), Russian beauty Tatiana Arkhangel'skaya and up-and-coming model maven Aoi of the Garb to serve as the muses, maquillage afficionado Chiqz Espinoza (sorry i forgot the first time mami!)and one of the city's top lensmen, Paolo Manalac. We took to the streets of Cebu, highlighting top spots which set the perfect backdrop for a rocking night in the town.
Using items from my own closet (I'm sure you can tell as I have worn some of them before hehe) as well as Yves, I wanted the shoot to be a reflection of my own style (being the writer of this article I should be allowed a bit of vanity, right) and the direction I see fashion as going into-- street-smart, edgy and tough, and at the same time maintaining a hardened yet unobtrusive sensuality. I think the pictures conveyed it incredibly well (thanks to Paolo), but you decide.:)
Let me know what you think. Before leaving, much love to all those who left comments even in my few days' absence. I will definitely get back to you, but for now.. gotta jet. Love you all. XOXO
