DIY Spiked Headband, Sequins and Girls Night Out

Hi loves, hope you all had a great weekend.

I certainly kicked off mine to a good start. Faye (one of my closest girls) just got back from New Jersey, so we just had to have a welcome dinner and a few cocktails. I realize that i should have more nights out just with my ladies!

I took my new custom sequined tee on a spin. I saw Tory Burch's Spring 2010 teal paillette tee and LOVED it enough to have a piece inspired by it. Love the versatility of the piece, and i think it can really be dressed up or down either way. Wore it with my DIY spike and leather band, which was laborious to make, but is worth it. Y'all know where this was inspired from.:)

All in all, a great night. I will be announcing my giveaway tomorrow morning. xoxo

sinulog 2010

Sinulog Day 2 and 3: For the Love of Shine and the Beats

My home internet is acting out again, Among other things. I'm on the office PC now, trying to step up my game in visiting your blogs and responding to comments. Thank God for nice bosses.:)

Like most of you, I am currently in love with sequins. It's effortless and fun, so what's not to love? I wore this sequined cobalt-blue number (an old 90's dress of another cousin)with ze Guess heels when i took my cousin Shana (who goes to uni in Japan and who's only here for the weekend) out on the town. She hasn't been here for 8 YEARS, but you know, kinda feels like she never left. We'll always be close like that.

Sunday was when the revelry broke out in the streets as the whole province ushered in the Sinulog 2010 mardigras, which exceeded previous expectations by drawing in a whopping 8 MILLION people. Incredible, isn't it? Unfortunately I wasn't able to be out on the streets much as Shana didn't want to brave the crowd, so we just saw it from the comfort of Shana's hotel grandstand. Good view still. Invited the friends later on for some R & R. all in all, this was a really great year for the Sinulog.

Btw boys and girls, I'm approaching my 100th post and I'm thinking of doing a giveaway! Wheee. I'll probly just announce it in my next post. Thanks again for the love.:)

Sinulog 2010 Day 1-Of Weddings and Mixed Martial Arts

Sinulog 2010 is officially over, and its funny noting how i spent the first night with two completely different events. The day began with the intimate church union of Edu and Kathi, who happens to be one of my closest girlfriends in highschool. For somebody who doesn't really believe in marriage, I swear I teared up a little bit. Hahaha. No seriously, it's different when it's someone you know very well steps down that aisle. A great night, and congratulations of course to the couple:)

Trooped soon after to the Cebu International Convention Center to support my good pal Tom Woodfin's main event fight. Let's just say the rest was Mixed Martial Arts history; I screamed like a guy, and Tom kicked ass. literally. 'nuff said.

Relatives are Love

Sorry if it has been days, loves. Currently recovering from the mayhem that was Sinulog 2010 weekend. Incredible memories, and will definitely post them soon.

Anyhoo- don't you love it when your family members abroad come home for festivities? Aside from the fantastic times together, a bit of a gift haul is expected (hehe). This was from my Aunt Berna (resident make-up artist for Christian Dior in Seattle) and I should say i live for it all. Love the heels, and i love Dior cosmetics, especially DiorShow. nothing compares to THAT mascara. Also, the brow styler is a MUST-have.

Just like a lot of you, I ushered in the 2009 holiday season with way too many parties and definitely WAY too much food to eat. A lot of remarkably good times that left us broke in the long run. Yeah, December may burn holes through our pockets, but it IS the most wonderful time of the year, especially 'cuz the song said so. hehe.

One event that made my month was when i got to borrow this incredible bodycon from my designer pal Mique Yapching for a Hollywood-inspired media party. The 20-year-old has been making waves with his unapologetically sexy, fashion-forward and intricately constructed designs. He's introduced his own sartorial taste incredibly well for an up and comer, and this has got him a lot of editorial love from some major fashion magazines in the country. For someone who knows him personally, I am quite proud of him. I'm sure there's a lot more to come.
