My Stay at the Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences (Makati Diary Post 1)

3:04 AM

Refined, minimalistic lines and textures immediately greet you upon entrance in this cozy but ultra chic space.
Who wouldn't want to wake up to this everyday? View from our 9th floor Malaga Suite room
TV time before going out. hehe
There's a visual feast 'round every corner. The Picasso is a huge proponent of the arts and all its movements, just like the famed master Picasso himself.
Sleek interiors, intimate spaces and well-appointed bathroom and work areas fit for the modern traveller was an absolute treat during our stay.
Absolutely loved this piece from young collage artist Dina Gadia--the rest of her work in this series were fun, bold, and pays a beautiful homage to vintage sensibilities.
A quick stopover at the Art Cabinet at The Picasso, their in-house art gallery, quelled our itch to get acquainted with some new works.
Checkout time! Wearing an Etoile Isabel Marant plaid top (from Gizelle's closet), leather shorts bought from the Worldbex Bazaar, and ankle boots from Mango (bought from Kookie)
Conveniently located at the heart of Salcedo Village in Makati (a stone's throw away from the Greenbelt area), the Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences gets a solid 5/5 for its luxurious yet quirky ambiance, excellent service, and location

It's been more than a month since I stepped foot in Manila for the 4th installment of Bloggers United (more on that later)... and while my 3 days there was filled with nothing but fun times and great eats (I live for the food markets!) with my BU friends and my adorable Thaadius, the place where we stayed at and our experience there rightfully deserved a special post all on its own.

My friend Nico of top bookings and reservations site Agoda.com gave both thumbs up and ushered us into the blissfully artful and chic Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences in Salcedo Village, Makati. Though its customary for me to surf my friends' condo couches and spare beds whenever I'm in the capital, this non-honeymoon treat was certainly most welcome.

Their description on their official website sums up the experience perfectly. To quote:

"Combining the features of boutique hotels with serviced apartments, this trendy accomodation in Makati is ideal for those looking to lodge in style. Chic and unconventional, The Picasso Boutique Serviced Residences showcases the famed painter's philosophy and artistic senses. The Picasso's Art-In-House program positions the property also as an engine for art, showcasing some of the most unique and forward-thinking artists both here and abroad."

The pictures here only capture the awesomeness of this hotel in a nutshell.

Here's some crucial tidbits about the Picasso, if and when you happen to be looking for the best place in the Makati area. They are:

  • Conveniently located at the Makati Central Business District.
  • Walking distance to Salcedo Market, the most popular and cosmopolitan weekend market and bazaar in Metro Manila (every Saturday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.)
  • Walking distance to the Makati Sports Club.
  • 15-minute walking distance to the Ayala Museum and the Makati Commercial Center, the premiere shopping district in the country
  • Ten (10) kilometers from the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

The Picasso Hotel in Makati is aptly described in their Twitter account as "a place where art and passion live, and where contemporary style and committed service meet". I got to live the experience for three days and I couldn't agree more.

Thank you again to Agoda.com and The Picasso for having me!
