I wasn't sure how I would contain my excitement at the prospect of working with Hannah again for a concept shoot. Hannah may be young (younger than me, I think), but she is on top of her game. I've always held her at a very high regard for her tasteful work. She knows what she wants, has one of the sharpest eyes for fashion and art in the industry, and overall just a nice and easy person to work with. It's always a pleasure to be working with Hannah.
Hannah has always had a fascination with dolls so we went ahead and shot Vanessa in a sort of Victorian porcelain-doll inspired shoot. Funny because I was totally thinking of Kiera Knightley and how pale and sickly she looks in her period films, so we kind of wanted that vibe. Beauty blogger/make-up artist Maricarl-Janah did so well in achieving the make-up peg as well.
The result is truly arresting, really beautiful but gives you a sense of dread and gloom as well--exactly what we had in mind. Hope you guys like it!
I'm collaborating again with Hannah this weekend, and it's going to be a totally different story this time. I'll make sure to keep you posted.
