Ever since I became a mom, I've increasingly become a creature of comfort. When it comes to my personal style, I've definitely crossed over to the minimalist side, and I'm not in the least bit ashamed to admit it. I've fallen in love with chic, timeless, structured pieces that I can put on repeat without so much as a tiny guilt trip. And black, lots of black, as per ush. Call it practicality, call it a shift in attitude and taste. Call me a repeat outfit offender if you wish -- I'll proudly wear it like a badge!
December 2015 marked so many incredible fashion events and gatherings, but the hotly anticipated Saks Fifth Avenue-Troy's (re)Launch Party was certainly one for the books! Metro Detroit's fashion elite and excited shoppers gathered for a night of contemporary fashion, hors d'oeuvres and bubbly, and some butt sketching. Yes, you read that right. Butt sketching!

Is the "mom uniform" a thing? As a personal style blogger for the past several years now, I know it's become a bit of a "responsibility to dress it up and play with my options, but as a mompreneur and creative trying to balance playtime and working on my deadlines, I find myself circling back to some old faithfuls and predictable combinations when it comes what I wear to the day-to-day-grind. Some days I like go the extra mile and pull all the stops (particularly during events season!), but most of the time when I'm just running to Kroger/Meijer or taking my child to the pedia, I just can't be bothered.
To all moms out there, what's your go-to "mom uniform" preferences?

HYAAAY it's 2016 already! Are we doing good on our resolutions, or nah? Hope the new year has been treating you all great so far!
Aside from my own personal, hopefully more attainable resolutions for this year, I also resolve to invest and never overlook the one thing that really matters: the overall health of me and my two boys. We already know the annual examinations that we regularly take - visits to our OBGYN, our dentist, our PCP -- but did you guys know how important it is to schedule an annual eye exam (even if your vision is crystal clear)? Read on after the jump to find out more about the AccuExam!
I get it - we're all a bit tired of that same old "New Year, New Me" rhetoric (we all saw that meme of Robert Downey Jr. rolling his eyes, right?). We're all a little bit older now, and sometimes it feels like every new year's resolution becomes just plainly obligatory to say as opposed to something we actually plan on following through. I know because I'm guilty of the same mistake. I still eat a lot of carbs, I'm still not on a vegan diet, and I still don't exercise at least three times a week. Again, guilty.
However, on the year I actually turn the big 3-0, I hope you can give me this space to say my own "new year, new me" statement without so much as a little virtual side eye because believe me when I say that I'm determined to actually follow through with this one.
