Much can definitely be said about new fashion darling Alexander Wang. The obvs being that 1) the who's who of fashion(the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker to Erin Wasson to Anna Wintour) adore him to the core, and 2)his meteoric rise to fashion recognition cannot be ignored.


Accolades aside, the thing that strikes me most about fashion's new boy wonder is that he is still very much like us- very young (at 24), struggling, ambitious, and very, very Asian (makes us all too proud, noh?). He reminds us that anything can happen in fashion, and one can literally be thrusted into the spotlight in a New York Minute (cue to my young designer friends on this one). On that note, he got there because he is simply fantastic. His girls stand out through clean and classic lines, yet unmistakably sexy and urban all the same.


His latest outing for this year's fall season is a pleasure, as expected-still a lot of blacks and obsidians, strong vagabond lines, bringing to mind a hardened urbanite who lives for the sights and sounds of the city, yet distinctively does it with flair. Leather makes a strong presence in the collection through fitted jackets, and he issues more bandage dresses this season for the party girl who wishes to diss off the frills. Hardcore yet provocative chic is what Alexander is all about, and he does it all too well.


And for that, someone fricking make a Wikipedia for the guy already. sheesh.
